To Each Their Own

“You come home, make some tea, sit down in your armchair, and all around there’s silence. Everyone decides for themselves whether that’s loneliness or freedom.”

To each their own

In this fast-paced and fiercely competitive world, we are too busy carrying out our daily grinds. On top of that increased household work, work-life balance, meeting deadlines and commitments have made our life stressful as well as taxing. And true essence of life seems to be lost. We need a time out for ourselves to sit and reflect upon our life. To self-analyze our priorities, values and to know what do we want from our life?

We certainly need moments of solitudes to connect with ourselves and listen to our inner voice(not the negative ones). Spending time alone with our thoughts and feelings can be instrumental in helping us grow and reach our goals. Silence holds immense power.

To tune in with our inner self and reflect upon life we need a calm and quiet atmosphere. And that can be achieved when there is silence all around.

But to me It feels lonely when it becomes the rule rather than the exception.

It is also worth noting that being alone does not necessarily mean loneliness nor does it mean freedom.
